The much anticipated and publicized boxing bout between arch
rivals Bunkom Banku and Ayittey Powers is off. There are stories making rounds
on social media that, Ayittey Powers has pulled out of the fight, which had
made serious rounds in Ghana and abroad.
“As for me I want to fight, but if God says I cannot fight,
I will not fight,” Ayittey Powers said as he confirmed the rumors this morning
on Joy FM.
It will be recalled that the Synagogue Church Of All Nations
(SCOAN) delivered Ayittey Powers of demonic possession last Sunday. However,
some pundits are worried about the development and the image it would cut for
boxing in Ghana.
This is so considering the noise and several corporate
endorsements involved in this and one is tempted to ask if Ayittey Powers is
ready to handle the legal tussle that would follow his drastic decision.
Hitherto this development, the two would have fought on 18th
April 2014.
