Parliamentary correspondent and regular panel of the Citi
Breakfast Show on Citi Fm in Accra, Richard Dela Sky stood his ground to let
people who comment on his facebook wall know that he has an independent thought
which must be respected and that they must desist from comparing him to the
late BBC reporter, Komlar Dumor. He said these in response to comments he
received on his facebook wall after posting a quote by Prof Stephen Adai, a
former Rector of GIMPA as reported in the Daily Guide newspaper. He posted…
"You live in a country where the President is lying;
Ministers are are lying; and everybody is lying. How can a Head of State stand
in front of a country in this state of affairs and say the economy is good? It
is not good; things are hard" - Prof
Stephen Adai.
As usual, the post attracted many response from his friends
on facebook at which point one friend wrote “Sky this is your page but it‘s
public abi. Tolerance is the watch word! Komla Dumor was buried not long ago”
In a quick rebuttal to set the record straight, Mr Sky said
that, for that fact that someone phoned Komlar Dumor on a program and insulted
him and despite the insults, Komlar only said ‘thank you’ does not mean he
should do same.
“Therefore, the fruitless moves to blindly compare the
independence of my thoughts, deeds and actions to the Boss Player's must be
seen in that light. And let me say I will NOT hesitate to throw people off my
page if I have reason to believe they don't belong here. And that has nothing
to do with tolerance or the lack of it” - Richard Dela Sky further stated
Moments after this particular post, Mr Sky went ahead and
wrote another one complaining about our over politicized democracy where you
are not allowed to question those in authority. Check out his comments! Way to
go, Mr Sky…we need to encourage people to speak up and ask questions. You are a biiiig man!!
